I keep things simple. You tell me what you're planning, we talk it through, I show up ready, and you get your photos back fast. No drawn-out process, no confusion about what happens next.
The best photos happen when everyone's comfortable.
My approach
01.
I PAY ATTENTION
The best shots come from watching, not directing. I'm reading the room, tracking the light, and waiting for the right expression. You won't have to tell me what to capture.
02.
I KEEP IT COMFORTABLE
If you're stiff, the photos will be too. I give you enough direction to feel confident but not so much that it feels like a production. Most people tell me they forgot the camera was there.
03.
I EDIT HONESTLY
No heavy filters. No trendy color grades that'll look dated in two years. I aim for accuracy: real color, real light, and images that look like what you actually experienced.
04.
I DON'T DISAPPEAR
You'll hear from me within 48 hours of reaching out, and I'll keep you updated through the whole process. The number one complaint about photographers is going silent after the shoot. I don't do that.
FAQ
This is my first photoshoot. What should I know?
Just relax. I'll walk you through everything. You don't need to know how to pose or where to look. That's my job. By the end you'll forget the camera is there.
What should I wear?
Whatever makes you feel like yourself. Avoid busy patterns and logos if you can. Solid colors and layers photograph well. If you're stuck, send me a photo of your options and I'll give you my honest take.
How many pictures will I receive?
Portraits typically deliver 30-60 edited images. Events vary based on length, but you'll get a full gallery. I don't pad it with filler. Every image I deliver is one I'd put in my own portfolio.
Are you available outside of Chicago?
Yes. I'm based in Chicago but open to travel. Hawai'i is always a yes.
Do you do couples and wedding photography?
I do. I approach weddings the same way I approach everything else: stay present, capture what's real, make it easy for you to be yourselves.
